About the Artist

Welcome, my name is Halli and I am the ceramic artist and owner of Thyme of Day. I have always been a hands on, creative person, so when I decided to study textile art in college I felt like I had found my path, but I had no idea that God would soon guide me to study pottery! I took a ceramic class my freshman year and loved it! I quickly changed my major and the rest is history.

I started my business online in the summer of 2020 during the pandemic selling handsewn masks and hair srunchies to make some money. During my sophmore year of school I made a bunch of pots and sold them at my first market. I took those profits, bought a pottery wheel, and set up a studio in my childhood treehouse. That studio served me well for two summers as I sold at a variety of local markets, but I was quickly outgrowing the space. In the fall of 2022 after graduatinng college, I needed to move the studio into a heated space as winter approached, so my parents graciously made some room for me in their basement. Summer of 2023, I moved into a house with some friends and transformed the garage into the studio of my dreams! Now I get to play with mud in my garage all day long!

During my time in college, I was asked to interview someone in a career field similar to what I desired to do in the future. I reached out to Cleveland ceramic artist Gina DeSantis and she graciously offered up her time to talk to me and we got along great! That summer I began an intership with her and the following summer she hired me on as part of her production team. She has served a huge role in my growth as an artist and business woman, and is always willing to answer questions and give advice.

At any given moment I likely have clay on my clothes, or in my hair, or on my face, but I love what I do and I am so grateful for all of the support I have recieved so far! Heres to many more years of paying with mud!
